Natural Stone Tile

Natural stone offers one of the largest selections; granite , marble, slate , limestone, travertine, and onyx are a few examples of natural stone tiles. Natural stone also comes in different finishes such as polished, tumbled, honed, chiseled, ancient, and pillowed. Each of these finishes can enhance the stone itself to create a unique look to your area. Natural stone is completely distinct, none will have the same pattern, veining, or defining marks as another making each project truly unique.

Characteristics of natural stone

Slate – has a high color variation, may naturally flake after installation. Must be sealed with penetrating sealer. Great for indoor installations only, kitchens, baths, fireplaces. Has a rough, rustic appearance except for the honed slates. Which are cut and sanded smooth.

Marble - Most marbles have distict “veining” through the tile. A soft stone which can scratch with abrasives. Must be sealed with penetrating sealer. Great for interior low traffic areas, wet or dry.

Limestone/Travertine - Sedimentary stone. May be used interior or exterior. Can come polished, honed, or tumbled. Needs to be sealed with a penetrating sealer

Granite - The toughest of natural stones and will not scratch from everyday use. Great for high traffic areas, countertops, fireplaces. Interior or exterior use. Must be sealed with a penetrating sealer
